Our Soccer Academy
S&SUK work closely with Leeds Beckett University (LBU) to provide our student athletes with the very best quality coaching support while they study for their undergraduate or postgraduate Degree.
The University has recently invested £45 million in a state-of-the-art sports complex, providing an iconic home for the Carnegie School of Sport, housing specialist teaching and research laboratories. The facility provides a focus for the University undergraduate and postgraduate research and enterprise programmes as well as acting as a hub for elite athletes.
Student athletes will be available for selection to compete in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) League, and we also provide the opportunity for athletes to trial and play for local soccer clubs (eg. Leeds United, Harrogate Town AFC, York City FC), participating in leagues up to the standard of the Women’s Premier League (Tier 3 in the UK).
The soccer games programme runs from September through to May and during the season all student athletes will be treated as full time professionals, training three times a week and participating in an estimated 20 games minimum through the season.
The process is simple.
A fixed annual fee, payable to S&SUK covers all academic, accommodation and soccer costs. Our aim, your total peace of mind from initial enquiry through to graduation.
What’s included in your soccer package?
• Minimum 6 hours coaching per week working with FA Qualified coaches
• Ability-specific games programme with opportunity to trial at nearby clubs participating up to WPL level
