Academic
Soccer and Study UK's decision to work closely with Leeds Beckett University is based on our knowledge of its outstanding reputation as both an academic institution and a first-class sporting centre.
The University traces its roots back to 1824 when the Leeds Mechanics Institute was founded. Leeds Beckett University, formerly known as Leeds Metropolitan University until 2013, has since evolved into the highly respected centre of education and sport that it is today.
LBU has two campuses, one in Leeds City Centre and the second is located in Headingley, a vibrant and lively student suburb of Leeds. The Headingley Campus has recently seen the opening of a state-of-the-art £40 million sports complex, providing superb facilities for students.
A major part of our role at S&SUK is to ensure that all parts of the process from recruitment, to course selection, travel arrangements and to arranging accommodation, run as smoothly as possible. We work closely with our student athletes and the University to ensure that any issues that arise are resolved promptly.
Courses
There are a number of subjects available to study at Leeds Beckett University - the Sport and Business courses are particularly popular. The University offers three undergraduate programmes:
• Sport and Exercise Science (BSc HONS)
• Sport and Exercise Therapy (BSc HONS)
• Physical Education and Sports Coaching (BA HONS)
A fourth year Masters option is available on all the above programmes.
In addition, LBU offer a varied menu of courses in Humanities, Business, Science and Technology, Media, Languages and Art and Design.

Membership of the Soccer and Study UK Academy costs:
£24,000 per year for undergraduates
£23,000 per year for post-graduates
(This includes tuition fees, accommodation and all soccer fees)
Accommodation
Student athletes have a number of accommodation options to choose from including studio apartments, shared flats and houses. Included in your cost is accommodation of the standard at the Townhouse Ensuite at Carnegie Village. Your accommodation is within a 20 minute walk of either the City Centre or Headingley Campus, and all students have unlimited WIFI access
Leeds also has easy access to major UK Airports (Leeds Bradford International Airport is on the doorstep and Manchester Airport around 60 minutes away) and a rail transport system providing two hour access to the cities of London and Edinburgh.
Wherever possible, we try to arrange accommodation for our international student athletes together. The earlier you apply through S&SUK, the wider the choice of accommodation.
